- A Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports or Physical Education or Sports Science with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever grading system is followed)
- Record of having represented the university/college at inter-university/inter-collegiate competitions or State and/or national championships
- Cleared NET/SLET/SET or awarded Ph.D. in Physical Education/Physical Education and Sports/Sports Science as per UGC regulations
- Passed the physical fitness test conducted in accordance with Regulations
- OR An Asian game or commonwealth games medal winner with Post-Graduation degree
