Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineer for our Production System & Development team to play a pivotal role in advancing our manufacturing systems. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining critical interfaces with external systems like SAP and PAS, integrating shop floor equipment, and enabling automated data collection. You will drive the development platform forward to align with Industry 4.0 technologies, ensuring our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) remains robust and relevant. As part of a dedicated team, you will support existing integrations, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide technical leadership for system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and implementation of optimal relational database structures to ensure maximum performance and scalability.
• Develop, write, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and simulation scripts for data collection and analysis.
• Ensure robust database security, implement reliable backup strategies, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
• Perform advanced database tuning, indexing, and query optimization to maintain system efficiency and data integrity.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for seamless data flow between systems like SAP, PAS, and shop-floor applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate SQL databases seamlessly with both internal and external applications.
• Proactively monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes for software bugs, providing clear updates to stakeholders.
• Automate routine database maintenance and monitoring tasks through scripting to improve operational reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Education: A technical degree (e.g., Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent) is required.
• Technical Expertise:
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL), including writing and optimizing complex queries and procedures.
• Strong experience with major Database Management Systems (DBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Solid understanding of database design, architecture, and data modeling principles (normalization, schema design).
• Proven skills in ETL processes, data analysis, manipulation, and presentation.
• Demonstrated ability in database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ensuring data integrity.
• Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of a programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#) for application integration is highly beneficial.
• Experience with manufacturing systems (MES), SAP integration, or shop-floor automation is a strong plus.
