Job Description
Kalakti Arts is looking for a creative and passionate Print Designer to join our design family! In this role, you will be responsible for creating original, trend-forward patterns and prints for home furnishings, textiles, and lifestyle products. You will use your expertise in digital design tools to develop compelling repeat patterns, color stories, and surface designs that tell a visual story and align with market trends and client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create original print designs and repeat patterns for home textiles, furnishings, and lifestyle products using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Develop hand-drawn or digital illustrations and translate them into production-ready print layouts.
• Apply a strong understanding of color theory, scale, and textile-specific layout requirements to each design.
• Collaborate with the design and product teams to align print designs with seasonal collections and client briefs.
• Prepare final print files with precision, ensuring they meet technical and production standards.
Skill Requirement
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and imaginative designer with expert-level software skills, a strong sense of color and pattern, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You should have a portfolio showcasing original print work and a passion for textile and surface design.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Expertise in Adobe Photoshop for pattern creation and file preparation.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for vector artwork, repeat layouts, and technical design work.
• Strong creative skills with a deep understanding of color theory, scale, and textile design principles.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for clear collaboration with team members and clients.
• Experience with Procreate or similar digital illustration tools is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of fabric printing techniques and textile trends is a bonus.
