Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and experienced academic leader to head or significantly contribute to our Jewellery Design department. This senior role encompasses full academic leadership, from strategic curriculum development and innovative teaching to faculty mentorship and integration of cutting-edge industry practices. You will be responsible for shaping the next generation of jewellery designers, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence, and ensuring the department remains at the forefront of design education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide academic leadership for the Jewellery Design department, including curriculum planning, development, and delivery.
• Teach, mentor, and inspire students through practical and theoretical instruction.
• Design and conduct student assessments while maintaining rigorous academic documentation.
• Integrate contemporary industry trends, techniques, and digital technologies (e.g., CAD, 3D printing) into the curriculum.
• Supervise, guide, and support the professional development of faculty members.
• Motivate and prepare students for national and international design competitions and projects.
Skill Requirement
The ideal candidate is a passionate educator and accomplished design professional with proven leadership abilities. You must possess a deep knowledge of both traditional and modern jewellery design, coupled with the skills to mentor both students and faculty and drive academic innovation.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Academic Leadership: Demonstrated experience in academic administration, curriculum design, and faculty management (HOD-level experience is highly preferred).
• Industry Expertise: Extensive professional knowledge of jewellery design, materials, techniques, and current industry trends.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with evolving design technologies, such as jewellery CAD software and digital fabrication methods.
• Mentorship & Communication: Exceptional mentoring, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage students and faculty effectively.
• Passion for Education: A genuine passion for teaching, innovation, and fostering creative talent.
• Portfolio: A strong professional and/or academic portfolio showcasing design expertise and student work (if applicable).
