Job Description

We are a fast-growing renewable energy company seeking a dynamic and result-driven Solar Business Development Manager to accelerate our growth. You will be responsible for expanding our solar business across residential, commercial, and industrial (RCI) segments. Your role is pivotal in identifying new opportunities, forging strong partnerships, managing key accounts, and executing the strategic plan to drive significant revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify, develop, and execute new business opportunities in rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
• Drive sales growth through direct customer engagement, EPCs, channel partners, and consultants.
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from initial lead generation to final project closure.
• Conduct client meetings, site visits, and lead technical-commercial discussions.
• Prepare detailed proposals, pricing, BOQs, and coordinate with internal technical and engineering teams.
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with customers, developers, and key industry stakeholders.
• Track market trends, competitor activities, and relevant policy updates in the solar energy sector.
• Achieve and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, seminars, and industry networking events.
• Ensure a seamless handover of secured projects to the execution and service teams.

Skill Requirement

The ideal candidate is a strategic hunter with deep solar industry expertise and a proven sales record. You must be an excellent communicator, negotiator, and relationship-builder, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Business (MBA preferred).
• 5–10 years of proven experience in solar sales and business development.
• Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, EPC models, net-metering, and regulations.
• Hands-on experience with C&I rooftop and/or utility-scale solar projects.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex opportunities simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Preferred Experience
• Prior experience working with EPC companies, OEMs, or solar developers.
• An existing network with corporates, industrial clients, architects, and consultants.
• Knowledge of government tenders and DISCOM processes is a strong advantage.
