As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in our kitchen, upholding the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will assist in preparing and presenting dishes with precision, ensuring every guest receives an outstanding culinary experience reflective of our brand’s reputation.
Your core responsibilities will include:
• Assisting in food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established recipes and section requirements.
• Maintaining consistent quality in taste, texture, and presentation across all menu items.
• Ensuring workstations are clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout service periods.
• Collaborating with the culinary team to ensure smooth, efficient, and timely service during peak hours.
• Handling guest feedback professionally and proactively to ensure satisfaction.
• Communicating promptly about ingredient shortages, equipment issues, or operational concerns to senior chefs.
• Contributing creative ideas and demonstrating a strong willingness to learn and grow within the team.
Skill Requirement
We are looking for a disciplined, passionate, and technically skilled Commis Chef with experience in high-standard international environments. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives under pressure, values consistency and hygiene, and is eager to grow within a dynamic new cafe.
Mandatory requirements and skills for this position include:
• 1–3 years of experience as a Commis Chef, preferably within an InterContinental or similar international hotel chain.
• Formal culinary education or equivalent professional kitchen training.
• Strong knowledge of global cuisines and modern culinary techniques.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to maintain precision, hygiene, and consistency under pressure.
• A proactive attitude, passion for learning, and adaptability within a flat-hierarchy, start-up culture.
