Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous Packaging Development Officer to spearhead the end-to-end development and management of packaging materials for our pharmaceutical products. This role encompasses the entire lifecycle of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging—from initial concept and supplier coordination to validation, cost optimization, and compliance assurance. You will be a key technical interface between R&D, production, quality, and regulatory teams.
Your core responsibility is to ensure all packaging materials are robust, compliant, and optimized for performance on the production line. This includes managing artwork, conducting trials, and maintaining documentation in strict accordance with GMP, GDP, and regulatory standards. You will play a direct role in implementing new materials and improving existing packaging solutions.
Develop and evaluate all packaging materials (blisters, bottles, cartons, labels, etc.), coordinating with suppliers for new developments.
Manage packaging specifications (PMS), artwork approval processes, and ensure compliance with country-specific regulatory guidelines.
Conduct and document packaging line trials, validation activities, and performance evaluations for new products and materials.
Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities through material or design improvements.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation (BOM, PMS, SOPs) and ensure strict adherence to GMP, GDP, and internal quality systems.
Skill Requirement
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging systems and regulatory landscapes. You must possess excellent project management and cross-functional coordination skills to drive packaging initiatives from development to commercial launch.
We require an analytical problem-solver who can balance quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Excellent communication skills are essential for effective vendor management and collaboration with internal stakeholders across production, QA, QC, and procurement.
Proven experience in pharmaceutical packaging development, including blister packs, bottles, cartons, and labeling.
In-depth knowledge of GMP, GDP, and global regulatory guidelines for pharmaceutical packaging.
Hands-on experience in conducting packaging line trials, validation (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ), and stability requirements.
Strong skills in vendor coordination, artwork management, and technical documentation.
Ability to analyze packaging performance and identify opportunities for cost optimization and material improvements.
