The Black Shepherd, an intimate 26-seat restaurant in Bandra West, is seeking a Guest Service Associate to become an integral part of our storytelling experience. We bring authentic British cuisine to Mumbai, where every dish carries a narrative. In this role, you are not just a server but the face of our brand, responsible for creating warm, memorable connections with our guests by guiding them through our unique menu and ensuring impeccable service in our cozy setting. You will report directly to the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef Rahul Kotak.
In this intimate dining environment, your role is pivotal to the overall guest experience, blending hospitality with narrative. Your core responsibilities will include:
• Menu Storytelling: Expertly and enthusiastically explaining our British-centric menu, detailing the nuances of dishes like triple-cooked chips and the heritage of our Shepherd’s Pie.
• Intimate Service: Managing a section with high attention to detail—anticipating needs, clearing tables discreetly, and engaging guests warmly without intrusion.
• Beverage Service: Serving and recommending from our curated tea list and signature bottomless hot chocolate.
• Operational Excellence: Ensuring seamless service flow and that the restaurant is reset to pristine standards for each seating.
• Feedback Coordination: Acting as a bridge between guests and the kitchen by relaying specific feedback on flavor profiles and dining experiences
Skill Requirement
We are looking for a warm, articulate, and well-groomed individual with a passion for hospitality and storytelling. Prior experience in fine dining, a bistro, or a high-end café is preferred, especially with exposure to continental or European cuisine. You must thrive in a small, detail-oriented team environment.
The essential qualifications and attributes for this position are:
• Communication: Fluency in English is mandatory, with articulate and confident conversational skills.
• Experience: Previous experience in a fine dining or high-end café environment is preferred. Freshers and interns with the right attitude are also welcome to apply.
• Personality: Warm, outgoing, and professional, with a polished appearance that fits our refined yet cozy ambiance.
• Flexibility: Available for break shifts and part-time/full-time hours, including weekend evenings.
