Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Librarian to oversee the comprehensive management and operations of our library. You will be responsible for maintaining an organized, accessible, and welcoming environment for all patrons. Your role extends beyond traditional cataloging to include digital resource management, community engagement, and strategic administration. You will ensure the library remains a vital resource through effective collection development, innovative services, and the supervision of supporting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily library operations, ensuring a clean, orderly, and secure environment for all resources.
• Develop, curate, and manage the library’s physical and digital inventory, including books, periodicals, and multimedia.
• Conduct regular database maintenance and updates to ensure accurate and accessible information.
• Assist patrons with research, reference queries, and material recommendations in person, via phone, or email.
• Create, publish, and update engaging content for the library’s website, such as book summaries, reviews, and blog posts.
• Research and implement new information systems and technologies to improve library services.
• Plan and organize community activities and promotional events like storytelling sessions, author readings, and book sales.
• Manage library budgeting, billing for new acquisitions, and equipment procurement.
• Supervise and train library assistants and other support staff.

The ideal candidate is a proactive information professional with strong administrative and interpersonal skills. You must be adept at both traditional library science and modern digital tools, with a passion for fostering a love of reading and learning within the community. Leadership ability and a service-oriented mindset are essential.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• A professional degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) is required.
• Proven previous experience working as a Librarian or in a similar information management role.
• Proficiency with library computers, electronic databases, and information management systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A patient, friendly, and helpful personality with a strong commitment to customer service.
• Experience in staff supervision, event planning, and basic budget management is preferred.
