Job Description
The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality education to children from low-income communities. Through its network of 26 schools across Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur, Akanksha reaches over 13,000 students and works closely with local municipalities to drive meaningful school reform.
As a Secondary Teacher (English, SST), you will be responsible for the academic progress and holistic development of at least 30 students per class. The role focuses on delivering engaging lessons, fostering critical thinking, and creating a classroom culture that combines high expectations with joyful learning.
• Teach English and Social Studies using the Akanksha curriculum and effective pedagogy
• Design and execute engaging lesson plans and meaningful assessments
• Use diverse teaching strategies to address varied learning needs
• Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community
• Clearly communicate high academic and behavioral expectations
• Participate in professional development, trainings, and school meetings
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, celebrations, and occasional community visits
Skill Requirement

• Graduate degree with B.Ed or D.Ed (mandatory)
• Relevant teaching experience preferred; freshers may also be considered
• Strong subject knowledge in English and Social Studies
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
