Job Description
We are seeking a disciplined and dedicated Scrub Technician specializing in Trauma & Spine Surgery to join our team. In this critical role, you will provide direct, hands-on assistance to surgeons and medical staff during complex trauma and spinal procedures in hospital operating rooms. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the precise preparation, handling, and maintenance of specialized surgical instruments and implants, contributing directly to the efficiency and safety of each operation. This position requires travel to various assigned hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team directly during trauma and spine operations.
• Prepare, arrange, and verify all required surgical instruments and implants before procedures.
• Maintain strict sterilization protocols and cleanliness of all surgical tools and equipment.
• Anticipate and hand the correct instruments to the surgeon efficiently during surgery.
• Provide technical support in handling specialized spine and trauma implant sets.
• Perform accurate instrument counts before and after each surgical procedure.
• Travel reliably to different assigned hospitals as per the surgical schedule.
• Adhere strictly to all hospital safety guidelines and operating room protocols.
Skill Requirement
The ideal candidate is meticulous, composed under pressure, and possesses a strong foundational knowledge of surgical environments. You must be a team player with excellent coordination skills, a commitment to aseptic technique, and the professionalism required in high-stakes medical settings.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Basic to proficient knowledge of surgical instruments, especially trauma and spine sets, and medical equipment.
• Prior experience as an OT Assistant, Scrub Nurse, or in a similar surgical support role is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for seamless coordination in the OR.
• Ability to remain focused, organized, and effective in high-pressure, critical environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel to multiple hospital locations as required.
• Strong discipline, punctuality, and a consistently professional demeanor.
• A relevant certification or diploma in Operation Theatre Technology or a related field is advantageous.
